Recording & Importing
My microphone isn't working. What should I do?
Make sure microphone access is enabled for Hummly in your iPhone or iPad Settings. Try restarting the app, or import an audio file instead. If the problem persists, you can try reinstalling Hummly. Export any music you want to keep first, as reinstalling may permanently remove songs saved on your device.
Why can't Hummly detect my melody?
Try humming a clear melody in a quiet environment. Avoid background music or multiple voices. A short, complete musical phrase usually works best.
Can I import my own audio?
Yes! You can import WAV or MP3 files. If your file is stored in the cloud, make sure it's available on your device first.
Playback & Sounds
Why can't I hear my music?
Check your device's volume and audio output, including Bluetooth headphones or speakers. Then try playing your song again.
Does Hummly work offline?
You can record and process your melodies on your device without an internet connection. Some instrument sounds need to be downloaded, so an internet connection may be required to hear them.
Saving & Sharing
Where are my songs saved?
Your songs are saved locally on your device. Hummly doesn't currently offer cloud sync or accounts.
Important: Deleting or reinstalling Hummly may permanently remove your saved songs. Export any music you want to keep before deleting the app.
How can I share my music?
Open your song library and tap Share to export your music. You can save the audio file or share it with friends.
Exported audio files don't preserve all editable project settings.
How do I delete a song?
Open your song library and select Delete for the song you want to remove. Any copies you've previously exported or shared must be deleted separately.
Privacy & Your Data
Your recordings and song projects stay on your device. Hummly doesn't upload your music to our servers.
